While Working as an apprentice at Strong Frames the last 13 months, I have learned an immeasurable amount from Carl allowing me to bypass many of the hurdles that new builders face. He has shown me tried and true processes that have built thousands of frames. Carl’s insight and constructive criticism set a professional standard by which I gauge my own work.
I began my obsession with bikes by riding, racing, and working in shops, where I learned the importance of a bike’s feel and what materials work in different situations. By working with Carl, I am learning how to turn what makes a great bike into a physical reality. I look at the frame as only part of the picture, with the rest of the build being equally important in creating a functional and aesthetically pleasing piece of equipment.
The bike I’m displaying at NAHBS is a sample of my most recent work and is meant to demonstrate my progress as Carl’s apprentice. I also hope to learn as much as I can from the professionals who will be there. I look forward to meeting all of you in person and networking with anybody as passionate about bikes as I am.
